Who We Work With

Fit matters more than volume.

Taking the wrong engagement costs more than the fee it produces. So we're specific about it.

Size

Businesses worth roughly $1 million to $8 million, with $300,000 to $2 million of adjusted earnings.

If that band sounds vague, it's because the measure changes with the buyer. Below about $1 million of earnings, buyers are usually individuals who will run the business themselves, and the number that matters is seller's discretionary earnings, which adds your compensation back in. Above it, buyers install management, your salary becomes a real expense, and the number is adjusted EBITDA. The same business can carry two different earnings figures depending on who's reading it, and knowing which one applies is part of what you're hiring.

Below this band, a broker serves you better. Above it, you should be talking to a regional investment bank, and we'll tell you which one.

The owner

First-generation owner-operators, typically holding most of their net worth inside the business, usually with no prior experience selling a company and no internal chief financial officer. Often the person who founded it.

This is the client we built for. It's also the client most poorly served by the existing market, where the choice is a listing site or a bank that won't return the call.

Industries and geography

We market industrial manufacturing, healthcare services, and home services, because buyer coverage compounds inside a sector and those are where the relationships already exist.

We take referrals across everything else. A good business with a real owner and clean-enough books is a good engagement regardless of what it makes.

Dallas–Fort Worth first, Texas broadly, contiguous states where the relationships support it.

Who we're not for

Owners who want a valuation opinion to settle an argument and have no intention of selling. Owners whose price expectation is more than 15% above what the financials support and who don't want to hear otherwise. Partnerships where the owners haven't agreed with each other yet. And anyone looking for the cheapest fee, who will find one.

The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Most owners who call are eighteen months out and not sure they're ready to say so out loud. That's the right time to call.
